Red Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 1/8 red cabbage  
  • 1 clove garlic - crushed  
  • 1 onion - chopped finely  
  • 2 rashers of bacon - chopped  
  • 1green apple - chopped  
  • 2 cloves  
  • 1 level teaspoon carraway seed  
  • 2 bay leaves  
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt  
  • 1/3 cup white vinegar

Procedure

  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to boil with the lid on.  
  2. Turn heat down to simmer stirring occasionally.  
  3. Cook for approximately 30 minutes.  
  4. Served as a vegetable - great served with chicken.
